Thomas E. Murray Jr. Retires From Eastern Long Island Hospital Association Board Of Directors
Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) is honoring Thomas E. Murray Jr. upon his retirement from its Board of Directors, where he dedicated 25 years of service, as well as from the Board of the Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation (ELIHF) where he served from its inception 18 years ago.

All Stony Brook Medicine Hospitals Named National Leaders in LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality
Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH), Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital (SBSH) and Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) have been named “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leaders” for 2024 in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI). All hospitals received the top score of 100 on a survey encompassing non-discrimination and staff training, patient services and support, employee benefits and policies, and patient and community engagement.

Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation Dedicates ER Ambulance Dock Modification
The Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation (ELHF) dedicated its new Emergency Room Ambulance Ramp Entrance in memory of Hon. Helen J. Rosenblum on Tuesday, April 8, 2024, on what would have been Ms. Rosenblum’s 79th birthday. The modification project was generously donated by Hon. Edward J. Boyd, Esq.

Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital Partners with Food Rescue US North Fork
Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) takes great pride in its partnership with Food Rescue US North Fork, contributing the hospital’s freshly prepared and packaged unused food each week to support the efforts of local volunteer food rescuers. Through this collaboration, essential sustenance finds its way to food pantries across the North Fork to combat hunger and waste within the eastern Long Island community.

Record Broken: Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary Donates $572,000 to SBELIH in 2023
The Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary (ELIH Auxiliary), a 100-member volunteer group that fundraises for Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH), raised a record-breaking $572,000 in 2023. The donation is part of the Auxiliary’s total contribution of more than $2,457,000 in gifts over the last 5 years.
