Pay or View Your Hospital Bill

Billing FAQs

When you become a non-emergency hospital patient in New York State, you are entitled to receive information about how you will be charged for the services you receive. This is particularly important if you could receive care from hospitals or providers that are not in your health plan's network, or if you are not covered by a health plan.

Can I pay my balance off in a payment plan?

Some patients are unable to pay balances in full and need extended time to pay for services. Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) offers short-term financing options to assist in these situations. All patients qualify by agreeing to accept the terms of the SBELIH payment program. Please contact the Extended Business Office at (631) 686-4377 to establish a payment arrangement.

Note: Sending a partial payment does not establish a formal payment plan.

Can I pay the Hospital Portion of my bill online?

Yes, please go to: https://ctsv3x.ipayxepay.net/elih/pp_P8000_F1_standard.jsp. You will need your patient billing statement OR Call our extended business office for assistance at (631) 686-4377.

Why did I get multiple bills?

Many diagnostic tests and procedures performed at SBELIH consist of two parts:

  • Technical (Hospital Portion)
  • Professional (Physician Services)

You will receive separate bills for Technical and Professional services rendered at SBELIH.

Can I get Financial Counseling?

Our Financial counselor can advise you on what is the best for you.  We must work together. It is your responsibility to apply for all available help and to be honest with us about your financial situation. We will do everything we can to help you pay for care received within our hospital.  Further information about financial assistance is available through the Financial Assistance Office at (631) 444-4331.
