Upon arriving at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, individuals can leave sharps with the screening clerk in the hospital lobby between 10 am and 12 pm, Monday to Friday. Sharps must be securely stored in a plastic, puncture-proof container with a tight-fitting lid. Acceptable options include screw-top plastic containers, such as those used for laundry detergent or bleach. Glass containers are strictly prohibited and will not be accepted.
