Advanced Ambulatory Surgery

Due to less invasive procedures and quicker healing times, approximately 85% of our surgeries are performed in the Advanced Ambulatory Care Center.

Ambulatory surgery patients are educated prior to their scheduled procedure to ensure they fully understand the process. Both patients and their families have the opportunity to ask questions and feel confident before surgery.

Our goal is to provide streamlined patient care in a beautifully designed, contemporary environment. The healthcare team includes certified operating room nurses, certified registered nurse anesthetists, certified surgical technologists, and board-certified specialists in anesthesiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and urology.

For patients requiring extended care, the Medical-Surgical and Intensive Care Units provide award-winning professional nursing staff who closely monitor patients from admission through discharge. SBELIH nurses and physicians take pride in delivering an extra measure of care at every step.

General Surgery

With state-of-the-art laparoscopic instrumentation, minimally invasive surgery is performed with maximum results. Enhanced ancillary services, including pathology, histology, cytology, microbiology, and pre-surgical diagnostics, support positive outcomes. SBELIH was the first hospital on Long Island to acquire and operate the Olympus 4K Ultra High Definition Surgical Camera System, allowing superior visualization.
