GREENPORT, NY, June 6, 2024 – Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly named Harold Family Clinical Laboratory on May 28, 2024, setting the stage for improved laboratory services and advanced technology to benefit communities on the East End.
Since 2015, Erica and Peter Harold and the Harold Family Foundation have funded numerous advancements and SBELIH, including a new chemistry analyzer, Sea Wall, BiPAP machine, 3D Tomo (breast tomosynthesis), Vapotherm, the COVID Action Fund, a new C-Arm for the OR, and many other pieces of equipment.
Paul J. Connor III, Chief Administrative Officer at SBELIH, warmly acknowledged their generous support, saying, “Their donations have done more than provide lab equipment; they have created a partnership in our mission to improve lives. This partnership gives us the strength to push forward, knowing we have your unwavering support.”
Linda Sweeney, VP Foundation/External Affairs, added, "Together with Paul, we shared the vision of this lab with the Harolds. Their support has turned that vision into reality. This state-of-the-art new chemistry analyzer will lead to better patient outcomes."
