Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital Now Accepting Personal Protective Equipment Donations
In order to stay ahead of the demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) during the current COVID-19 outbreak, Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital is hosting a donation drive, accepting donations that are boxed in-person and via mail.
Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital Community Relations Department will be collecting donations of personal protective equipment (PPE) which will be given to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital. The Community Relations Department is currently accepting PPE donations that include face shields, N95 3M 1860 masks, protective eyewear, goggles, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and other supplies required for staff safety. The PPE will then be distributed to medical personnel to use while interacting with possible (PUI) and known COVID-19 patients.
If members of the community have medical supplies that are in unopened boxes or comfort care items to donate, they should contact Linda Sweeney Vice President Foundation/External Affairs or Administration, at 631-477-5164 or 631-477-5100 so a drop off time and location can be arranged and donations put into the right hands quickly.
Note: As we need to be diligent about social distancing and the safety of all involved, scheduled appointments are the most efficient and safest way to go for all involved.
“Throughout the hospital’s history, our community never wavered in their commitment to sustain our day-to-day operations,” said Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital CAO, Paul Connor. “There is no better example of this dedication than the added extra willingness that our local businesses and residents have shown with their unwavering support.
