GREENPORT, NY, February 27, 2026 - The Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary (ELIH Auxiliary), a dedicated volunteer organization of nearly 100 members, continues to set the pace for community philanthropy. In 2025, the Auxiliary presented a record-setting gift of $643,020 to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH). This contribution brings the group’s total giving over the past five years to more than $2,876,000.
“I am deeply grateful and immensely proud of the ELIH Auxiliary’s unwavering support for Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital,” said Paul J. Connor, Chief Administrative Officer of SBELIH. “Their dedication and generosity directly benefit the hospital and the community we serve.”
Throughout the year, the Auxiliary fuels its fundraising success through a vibrant calendar of events, including the Dream Green Extravaganza, the Car/Cash Giveaway, Ladies Day on the Links, Italian Night Dinner, and more. Members also operate two beloved community retail spaces, the ELIH Auxiliary Opportunity Shop at 321 Main Street in Greenport Village and the hospital’s on-site gift shop.
Since its founding in 1905, the Auxiliary has contributed more than $21 million to support hospital initiatives, surpassing other hospital auxiliaries across New York State in total funds raised. Their generosity has helped secure essential equipment and enhancements, including a new ventilator, upgrades to medical/surgical beds, refreshed furnishings in staff and physicians’ lounges, and support for key operational needs. These investments strengthen the programs and services SBELIH provides, ensuring patients across the North Fork and Shelter Island continue to receive high-quality care close to home.
Helene V. Fall, President of the ELIH Auxiliary, shared her enthusiasm for the group’s ongoing commitment to the hospital. “2025 was a significant year for the Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary,” she said. “We celebrated 120 years of devotion to our hospital and our community. We are thrilled that our 2025 donation was another record breaker.”
