In the Behavioral Health setting recreational, creative arts therapy and leisure time activity services provide for treatment, development, maintenance and expression of an appropriate leisure/social lifestyle for individuals with physical, mental, emotional or social limitations.
Education:
- Mandatory: Master's in Art Therapy or Equivalent, LCAT
- Preferred: CASAC
Experience:
- Behavioral Health Treatment (2 Years' Experience)
- Inpatient Behavioral Health (1 Year Experience)
Special Skills/Training/Certification
- BLS, First Aid
MS in Therapeutic Recreation, Creative Arts Therapy or equivalent. Professional experience in Therapeutic Recreation, Creative Arts Therapy or equivalent. Certification as LCAT or equivalent preferred. A minimum of 2 years’ Behavioral health experience. Affiliation with professional organization preferred.
Good vision and hearing. Sufficient mobility and dexterity of both arms and mechanical substitutes to safely operate hand told and crafts, kitchen and self-care appliances, ceramic kiln, physical fitness and recreation equipment as well as keys and locking devices, doors and elevators. Sufficient mobility and strength to enter storage areas and to stack or carry supplies for therapeutic treatment programs.
