Captain's Huddle: September 16 at 6pm at Port of Egypt Marine
Tournament: September 16 & 17, Starts at 7pm on September 16 through September 17 at 5pm
Lobster Bash: Open to all. Tickets only $85 pp on September 17 at 5:30pm at Port of Egypt Marine or your own home, Lobster dinners by Southold Fish Market, Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. Beer Truck and Osprey Dominion Wine
2022 Fall Fishing Showdown Rules
- Prizes for first, second and third largest striped bass are given to the largest striped bass that is slot legal for NYS Fishing Regulations (28” -35”). Heaviest “slot legal fish” will be the winner, ties will be broken by length closest to 35”. First, second and third largest bluefish will be determined by weight. First, second and third largest porgy will be determined by weight.
- No fish will be accepted that does not meet NYS Fishing Regulations. Striped Bass, 1 fish per angler minimum length of 28” and 35” maximum length, also when fishing with bait circle hooks must be used. Bluefish, no NYS minimum length angler bag limit of 3 fish per angler. Porgy minimum length of 10”.
- Tournament fishing will commence at 6pm on September 16th and will conclude at 5pm on September 17th. If weather forces cancellation of scheduled tournament, it will be rescheduled for September 18th from 5am to 5pm.
- There are no geographic fishing boundaries.
- Any fish presented outside the weigh in period will not be included. Weigh in period is Sat Sept 17th 8am to 5pm just outside the Port of Egypt Main Office.
- In the event of a category not having a fish, prize money will be split evenly among other winning categories.
- Up to four anglers allowed on each boat and all must be registered at the captain’s party. Teams of more than four, up to six, can participate with each additional angler beyond four paying a $150 fee.
- Each boat may enter two fish for the largest striper, two fish for the largest bluefish and two fish for the largest porgy.
- Small craft advisory on Gardiners Bay will cancel fishing. Six hours of fishing required for tournament to be considered official.
- If weather forces cancellation on tournament day or following back up day, prize money will be distributed by drawing.
- Tournament directors will address protests at the time of infraction only. Their decisions will be final.
Prizes, Gifts and Events:
- All registered boats will receive one four tournament long sleeve sport shirts.
- Tournament will sponsor a Non-Release Division $150 Striper, a Non-Release Division $150 Bluefish and a Catch and Release Division Striper Calcutta with 33% of each pool going to the ELIH Foundation.
- All Captains and crew members are invited to the pre-tournament Captain’s Huddle and Rules Review, at least one team member should attend. Captain’s Huddle will take place from 6pm to 7pm on Sept 16th at “The Station” located on the southeast most section of the Port of Egypt property.
- All Captains and crew members are invited to the post tournament Lobster Bake which will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Sept 17th on the Port of Egypt property. The Bake will include individual lobster dinners for all participants along with live music provided by Points East.
- Winning category Cash Prizes for the Striper and Bluefish divisions and Trophies for First Place Fish will be presented at the Lobster Bake.
