Position Description

Prepares and serves high quality food for hospital patients, employees, and visitors.  Follows all policies and procedures of the department and hospital with an emphasis on infection control, safety, and sanitation.  Follows all procedures as they relate to the daily dietary aide's work schedule.

Experience

Two (2) years' experience in healthcare food service preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.  Suffolk County Department of Health food manager's safety certificate; or valid equivalent certificates issued three (3) years by an approved governmental agency or private corporation preferred.  Valid ServSafe food handler certification preferred.

Physical Demands

Good vision and hearing.  Ability to use short step ladder.  Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds with assistance.  Sufficient mobility and dexterity of both arms to safely operate equipment, utensils and retrieve stock inventory items.  Ability to work in hot and cold environments.  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
