Performs Managed Care/Clinical reviews for Behavioral Health Services. Assesses admission criteria and facilitates insurance authorizations and reviews as established by Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital ("SBELIH") policies and procedures and appropriate regulatory and oversight agencies., i.e., OASAS, OMH, Joint Commission, ODH. Acts within the SBELIH and Quannacut missions, philosophies and goals in addition to appropriate regulatory and oversight agencies.
One (1) year Acute Hospital experience required. One (1) year Behavioral Health/Addiction/Psychiatric experience preferred.
Accredited Nursing degree. Bachelors of Science degree preferred. Current New York State nursing license. Understanding of alcoholism/addiction. Basic Life Support ("BLS") certification required for RN. Advanced Cardiac Life Support ("ACLS") certification and/or 12 Step Program/Education preferred. BLS and First Aid for Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW)
Sufficient mobility to handle department activities. Sufficient dexterity of hands and arms (or mechanical substitutes) to write, answer phones, and communicate with staff, clients and other departments. Adequate vision and hearing. Must be able to respond quickly in an emergent situation. Must be able to communicate orally in an emergent situation. Must be able to use stairs in an emergent situation.
